After almost 20 years in medical clinic management, Patsy Kuentz switched gears in 2002
to combine her love of interviewing, writing, preserving photos, and documenting
personal and family histories to form her business, Recollections-- - A Portrait of a Life.

She primarily creates heirloom hard bound books from audio taped interviews (which she
transforms into narratives) along with photos and family history/genealogy information.
She encourages clients to include their life lessons and advice to future generations in
their life stories.

She has written and published a book, Our Family Heirlooms and Their Stories, a unique
system for documenting important stories and valuable information about one’s family
heirlooms.

Patsy has also completed over sixty volunteer Veterans History Project interviews for the
Library of Congress.

Speaking Topics

Family Heirlooms—Tangible Links to Our Ancestors

Heirlooms connect families in a deeply personal way.  Capturing and preserving the
background of our family heirlooms can be a gift to the entire family now and to future
family members not yet even a twinkle in anyone’s eye.

Preserving Life Stories—A Gift For Your Family Now And For the Future

The talk covers why one might want to write a personal history, options for the final
product, how to capture the information, organizing suggestions, and how life stories
dovetail well with family history, genealogy, and ethical wills.  It also shares the benefits
and drawbacks of working on one's life story alone, with a family member, or with the help
of a third party, plus when the best time is to start (which, of course, is today!).

Got Skeletons?  What’s in Your Closet?

Researching your family history can bring great pleasure to you and can help your family
put together its past.  Join us in this program as Patsy Kuentz provides practical tips and
cautions for starting to work on capturing your family’s heritage.

Preserving Military Stories for the Future:
Participating in the Library of Congress Veterans History Project

Created in 2000 by the United States Congress, the Veterans History Project is a project
of the Library of Congress aimed at collecting oral history interviews and other material
from veterans of U.S. War efforts (as well as civilian support efforts) from  World War I to
the present day.

Learn how to participate in this valuable project for preserving the history and life
experiences of those who so proudly served their country.
